Happy Mother´s Day!

“Who ran to help me when I fell,
and would some pretty story tell,
or kiss the place to make it well?”

The earliest Mother´s day celebration can be trace to the spring celebrations of ancient Greece in honor to Rhea, the mother of the gods.

Nowadays people across the world celebrate Mother´s day with joy and devotion because it is a very special time of celebration and commemoration for our mothers.

Mother`s day is celebrated on various days in many places around the world and we use this day to honor them, express gratitude, and let them know how special they are; we try to do something special for the woman who teaches us and sacrifices so many things to make us happy. This woman who shows us the best way to guide our lives with great effort and delicate touch deserves more than just one day of celebration and we should keep this in mind by making her days happier day by day.

In Saint George College, we made are best to treat our mothers the best we could. We sang to them, dramatized plays, recited poems and we also played with them. We shared a special moment laughing and letting they know how special they are.

That is why, on this day, we send a wish with gratitude to all the mothers in the world.

May you all have a very happy Mother´s Day!

Velada Musical

Dear St. Georgean Community,

As part of the school activitites we started the year with an Integrating Trip to Cieneguilla for the levels of Middle and Upper, from Middle 6th Grades to Upper 5th Grade.

In this trip we went to “Parque El Molle” in Cieneguilla. We had a massive asstistance to the trip for which we thank and congratulate parents and students for their support.

The activities started early in the morning with our departure at 8:30 am. We went to Cieneguilla in 5 buses that accomodated comfortably all the students and teachers that assisted to the trip.

It took us approximately 90 minutes to get to “Parque El Molle”. These facilities were large enough to be entertaining but small enough to be considered a controlled safe environment for all the students.

The pool, the grass courts and the table games were the most requested services from the park. We were lucky to have a beautiful sunny, and warm day that enhanced the enthusiasm of students and one teacher (Happy Birthday Ms. Elizabeth) to get into the cool waters of the swimming pool.

The sports and entertainment activities were briefly postponed to enjoy the delicious rotisserie chicken from the park’s kitchen. The lunch consisted of ¼ of chicken, fries and a soda, and ice cream at the end.

After lunch everybody could enjoy the park again until it was time to depart back to the school’s facilities. The buses arrived at school at 3:20 pm, and the students were able to pack up quickly and go back home after a fun day.

Here are some of the pictures taken from that day:
